Overview of noise event charts
Who is this article for?
Users working with noise event charts.
Admin module access is required.
The admin module provides two chart types to visualise noise event data across different time periods.
Noise event per period chart
This chart displays the number of noise events (produced by aircraft and any other source) for a selected period. The number of columns depends on the length of the selected period:
- Less than 24 hours - one column for every hour
- Between 24 hours and 31 days - one column for every day
- Between 31 days and 365 days - one column for every month
- More than 365 days - one column for each year
Selecting 12 December 08:00 to 10:00 shows two columns: 08:00–09:00 and 09:00–10:00.
Selecting 10 December 00:00 to 12 December 00:00 shows two columns: 10 December 00:00–11 December 00:00 and 11 December 00:00–12 December 00:00.
Noise event per hour chart
This chart shows the number of noise events per hour over a selected period, always displaying 24 columns. It groups events by hour (00:00–01:00, 01:00–02:00, etc.) and sums them across the entire period.
For example, if the period is 1 to 5 December, the chart totals noise events from 00:00–01:00 on 1, 2, 3, and 4 December, showing the combined count in the 00:00–01:00 column. This is repeated for each hour.
Note
If you select the day or night period, only a certain range of hours is taken into account for each day. Hours that fall outside that specific range remain at zero in this chart.
